Flying Hot Springs Trail Footbridge Timbers
Mark H with High Terrain Helicopters flew timbers for a new Hot Springs Trail footbridge to the construction site about 2.3 km from the lower trailhead. Bob T hooked the loads at the hangar and Brian W, Jamie D and Frank K marshalled him in and placed the loads on the trail. It all went smoothly and done in record time thanks to Mark’s skill and Brian’s years of experience working on heli-logging jobs. Thanks to everyone for a safe operation. We plan to start building the footbridge the week of October 14.
and a big thanks for Bud and Brian Adair for killing the cedar, Brian W for supervising the job and making sure it will all fit, and Jamie and Frank for helping cut and stage the loads. Also thanks for NACFOR for donating the cedar logs and Bud’s milling work, and CBT for everything else!

Clearing Storm Windfall
Jerry Van Immerzeel had been busy clearing windfall following our big blow a couple weeks ago. He and another member of the Arrow Lakes ATV Club cleared a couple dozen blow downs blocking the Nakusp to Summit Lake rail trail on September 29, and cleared more big windfall on the Saddle Mountain Lookout FSR with Linda supervising. He also righted the Saddle upper parking lot outhouse! It was windy up there! Thanks Jerry and helpers.
