Wilson Falls Group Hike Sunday April 27
Corinne T, Bob T, Barb C, Michelle G, Kara Y, Peter & Amelie, Jim S, Gerhardt M and 2 energetic dogs drove convoy style to Wilson Falls from Nakusp for an enjoyable hike to Wilson Falls, starting from the Wilson Lake FSR. It was a short, easy hike, although some sections on descent to the creek and falls were steep and a bit treacherous. No one slipped or twisted anything. We made some new friends, met neighbours, and had a good visit. Most of the hikers braved the slippery or difficult footing to climb to a small ledge at the edge of the thundering falls.

Hot Springs Trail Renewal Assessment April 24
Hugh W and Bob T walked the Hot Springs Trail from the upper to lower trailheads on Thursday April 24 to assess for hazards, condition of the crossings and other trail infrastructure, and the general condition of the trail. Numerous dead standing snags in close proximity to the trail and several insecurely lodged deadfall’s were identified as hazards requiring removal as soon as practicable. All of the crossings and rough hewen boardwalks appeared safe but many will require repair or replacement in from two to five years. The trail was considered to be in good condition and provides an exceptional user experience.
Hot Springs Clearing and Repair April 2025
Brian W, Frank K, Jamie D, John H and a friend spent a couple of days early in April clearing winter deadfall, replacing a poorly constructed crossing, and clearing a small rock slide in one of the ravines above a bridge, all on the lower half of Hot Springs Trail. Thanks to the volunteers helping out to Brian for leading the effort. The Hot Springs Trail is open and in good shape from the lower trailhead off Alexander Road to the intersection to the source near the Nakusp Hot Springs, with the exception of a couple of deadfall’s on the upper half.
